Te Reo Puppet Shows

We have been learning about kai (food) in Room 4. We learned how to ask He aha ki a koe? (which means what have you got?) and then we can answer with the kai we have learned so far. Here are some videos we made, using Sock Puppets on the i Pads, that show our Te Reo learning.

Plays

This week for reading, we were learning plays in our groups. We had to practise our lines, use lots of expression and work together as a team. Today we performed our plays for the class. Well done everyone, they were awesome!

Problem-Solvers

Wow, what an awesome start to the term Room 4 has made! We have been super busy this week with all our learning. Today we did some maths problem solving in groups. We had to do some clever thinking while working as part of a team.

Ooey Gooey Slime

Today for science we made Oobleck or Green Slime! We had to mix water, green food colouring and cornflour together. It felt really weird when we put our fingers in it. Sometimes it felt like a liquid and then it changed to a solid.

Pyjama Day!

We enjoyed our Pyjama Day in Room 4 on Friday! Now we are trying to get to the next level of our marble jar for another class treat. Here we are in our cosy PJs with our teddies. J

Super Recount Writing

We have been working hard in Room 4 to improve our writing by adding talking, description and lots of detail. We are really proud of our stories and all the effort we have put in to improving them! Our latest recounts are up on our Writing Wall in class and here are a few to share with you too.

Digi Awards

Term 2

Wow it sure has been a busy term in Room 4! This week we wrote some letters to tell other people about the things we learned and what we are proud of. Here are some of our letters.

Winning Speech!

Yesterday Cooper was in a speech competition and he won! He had to learn the poem  - My First Swimming Race off by heart and say it in front of lots of people. Cooper got a special cup and trophy for his win. We are super proud of him in Room 4!

A Special Performance

This afternoon in Room 4 we had a bit of a treat. Aria is going to be in a country music show tonight so she gave us a special performance of her song - Daddy's Hands. We all enjoyed Aria's song and think she has a great voice! Here is some of her song.

Welcome and Farewell!

This week in Room 4 we welcomed a new student - Esme and said goodbye to another student - Saidziyo. It's always sad to say bye to a special person in our class, we will miss you Saidziyo! It is also great to have you join us Esme.

ANZAC Writing

This week we wrote some great stories about ANZAC Day in Room 4. I was really impressed with how students were able to write a recount of their own experiences mixed with some facts about ANZAC. Amazing Art!

Welcome to the blog for 2015! We have made a great start to the year in Room 4 and have been working hard.

I have been really impressed with our writing in Room 4. We have been writing about our experiences and learning what makes a good recount. Our Writing Wall has got some awesome published recounts on it, make sure you come and check them out!
